21 Gaiting Tips

You'll Wish You Knew Sooner

21 gaiting tips you'll wish you knew sooner

Gaiting your show dog is quite involved! Not only does every breed have its own (perhaps unique) gaiting requirements, but each individual dog is different... You also need to navigate the proper lead and collar, troubleshoot your dog's behaviour, discern what each judge is looking for, utilize the space of the ring, and so much more. You'll need to know techniques such as your speed, arm placement, how you stretch your legs, whether you'll use a courtesy turn, how to get the right energy out of your dog, and much more.

In this webinar, Allison will share 21 tips that will help you gait your dog to the best of your ability. These will include solutions to common mistakes, "life hacks", proper techniques, and maybe a few things you just never thought of!

Some of our 21 Gaiting Tips will include...

  • How to control gait with your voice and expression
  • How to correct dogs that shake on the move
  • When to stop gaiting and start again
  • How to think about your own strides influencing your dog's strides
  • When should you gait your dog in your right hand on the down-and-back
  • How tension in the lead affects your dog's gait
  • and more!
