Grooming Your Dog at the Show:

A Complete Timeline

Live webinar: Wednesday, July 16th at 4pm PT / 7pm ET

Master every step of show-day grooming, from early morning prep to last-minute touch-ups before entering the ring.

Being able to plan and execute each step of your show day grooming is key to your success. Not only will you be confident in completing all of the necessary steps, but you'll become more efficient and your grooming results will improve! We will also discuss the "checkpoints" in your show day grooming, including the "point of no return" when your dog is groomed and finished right up until ringtime. This is where a lot of people make critical mistakes!

Don't forget to submit photos and/or videos with your webinar Q&A so Allison can provide you detailed feedback! Photos/videos can remain anonymous at your request.

Topics will include:

  • When to arrive at the dog show
  • Precise steps for each task of show day grooming
  • The bucket bath
  • The stylized blow dry
  • When can/should your dog go in their crate, ex pen, or rest on a table?
  • The “checkpoints” in your grooming
  • The importance of when finish trimming and prep begins
  • How to change your timeline for emergencies and troubleshooting
  • What to do if there’s a delay (or many absentees)
  • Juggling multiple dogs & how to combine timelines
  • What is day of show grooming vs what isn’t
  • How to allow your dog to rest in between grooming
  • How to change your timeline for 2 shows/day or competing in Groups & Best in Show
